A brief introduction to the packaging material of”Face Mask Pouch”-Aluminium foil bag

Introduction: Why do facial masks prefer aluminum foil bags for packaging? Because its surface generally has anti-gloss properties, and it is made of multiple layers, which makes the aluminum foil bag have good light-shielding properties. 1. What is face mask bags?

Mask bags (also known as aluminum foil bags, a type of aluminum-plastic composite bags) are made of aluminum and other high-barrier materials through dry compounding. Aluminum has the characteristics of light weight and gloss, strong anti-gloss ability, good barrier properties, airtightness and moisture resistance, strong temperature adaptability, stable shape at high or low temperatures, strong light-shielding properties, and excellent moisture resistance. Therefore, the mask bag has good moisture barrier, barrier, light avoidance, permeability resistance and beautiful appearance.

2. The manufacturing process of aluminum foil bag

2.1 Basic material

Aluminum foil should be used in the material of the mask bag, because aluminum foil has a good light-shielding effect and can extend the shelf life of the mask. However, the aluminum foil of the mask bag is divided into aluminized and pure aluminum. Customers with high requirements will choose pure aluminum, and aluminized is commonly used. The price of pure aluminum is more expensive than that of aluminized. The material combination of the mask bag (from outside to inside): PET+PET aluminized+PE or OPP+pure aluminum+PE.

2.2 Composite/high temperature disinfection

Every detail of the composite process will determine whether the packaging performance reaches the expected goal. Therefore, in production, we must strengthen the control of the composite process, master the key control points such as composite wrinkling, composite solvent residue, composite pitting and bubble abnormality, so that it will be much simpler to make this kind of packaging.

2.3 Graphic printing

The mask bag printing adopts gravure printing. Before printing, a gravure needs to be made. The price of the gravure will also be different. The more expensive the gravure printing effect will be, the better. The pure aluminum mask bag has 3 layers. The top layer is PET suitable for printing, followed by aluminum foil, and then LDPE. Of course, there are also 4-layer aluminum foil bags and aluminum foil bags of other materials. Generally, the top layer of glossy printing and matte printing is different. In order to save costs, some customers may also choose to use self-adhesive stickers.

2.4 Bag making

The control points of the finished product process mainly depend on the flatness of the bag, the strength of the edge sealing, and the appearance. In the bag making process, flatness and appearance are more difficult to grasp. Because the final technical level is determined by the machine operation, equipment, and the operating habits of employees, the bag is very easy to be scratched in the finished product process, and abnormalities such as large and small edges appear.

3. Product Structure of aluminum foil bag

3.1 Product classification

According to the material structure: pure aluminum bags, two types of aluminum-plated bags (including paper aluminum composite bags), pure aluminum composite bags (AL/PE, PET/AL/PE), aluminum-plated composite bags (VMPET/PE; PET/VMPET/CPP), etc.

According to the function: anti-static aluminum-plastic composite bags, moisture-proof aluminum-plastic vacuum bags.

According to the process structure:

Two-layer composite: opp/vmpet; vmpet/pe, etc.

Three-layer composite: matopp/vmpet/pe; opp/vmpet/pe, etc., commonly used in facial mask bags

Four-layer composite: pet/ny/vmpet/pe, etc., generally add nylon film to increase the softness and toughness of the composite bag.

According to the bag type, it can be divided into: three-side seal bag, zipper bag, accordion bag, etc.

3.2 Aluminum-plated bag

Aluminum-plated bag is a high-purity metal aluminum evenly coated on a plastic film under high temperature vacuum. Since it is coated on plastic, metal aluminum mainly plays a decorative role and does not help improve the barrier properties of materials. Colored aluminized bags are currently very popular gift packaging materials in the world. The outer layer is a colored aluminized film. The film adopts high vacuum evaporation technology and has a bright metallic luster, excellent gas and light barrier properties, and good moisture resistance, heat resistance, and puncture resistance. It also has excellent adaptability to printing and lamination. The inner transparent PE film has good heat sealing properties to ensure the firmness of the edge sealing. In general, colored aluminized bags have self-adhesive strips or easy-tear strips at the bag mouth for easy packaging. Aluminized bags are of high quality and bright colors. They are widely used in the packaging of various gifts and crafts and other industries with environmental protection requirements.

3.3 Pure aluminum bag

It is an extension of pure metal aluminum pressed sheets. It is compounded with plastic film to improve the barrier, sealing, fragrance retention, shielding and other functions of plastic. In other words, pure aluminum mask bags are more suitable for the current market requirements of mask packaging bags. Compared with aluminum plating, pure aluminum has a good metallic texture, is silvery white, and has a glossy property; aluminum metal is soft and can be customized with different composite materials and thicknesses, which meets the high-end product's pursuit of heavy texture and allows high-end facial masks to be more intuitively reflected in the packaging. Because of this, facial mask packaging bags have evolved from the initial basic functional requirements to the current high-end requirements of performance and texture, which has led to the transformation of facial mask bags from aluminum-plated bags to pure aluminum bags.
